What a MODJAW jaw record shows
The Marylebone scanner records how the jaw moves, so splints and orthodontic plans are not based on a single static bite.

Why a static bite is not enough
A wax wafer records one closed position. It does not show how the teeth meet when the jaw slides forward or to the side.
MODJAW is used at Marylebone when that movement matters: before a night guard, a run of crowns, or aligners that will change the bite.
What happens in the chair
Sensors are placed and the patient opens, closes, and moves the jaw to each side. The appointment takes about 45 minutes and does not need anaesthetic.
The record is stored with the clinical notes and reviewed before the appliance or the orthodontic plan is approved.
